Meeting Topic
Greetings FileMaker Enthusiasts, Our next Philadelphia FileMaker User Group meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday evening, March 24th 2009 at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held at the IT Solutions Fort Washington Office: + 414 Commerce Dr., Suite 150, Fort Washington, PA 19034 + Google Map: http://tinyurl.com/37mhhh ____________________________________________________________________ The Proof Group presents on fmSpark and NinjaCal A Saved Finds Primer: First in a series of FM 10 Feature explorations PLUS: FileMaker's "Power of 10" Roadshow comes to Philly April 1! ____________________________________________________________________ First, Ernest Koe will be presenting an under-the-hood session on Proof's mail-merge solution, fmSpark and their latest must-have for FileMaker developers, NinjaCal, a super-easy-to-integrate native FileMaker calendar widget. The session will cover a range of topics including scripting practices, quasi-MVC design, and the object-model architecture. After the break, Colin Keefe will present a primer on Saved Finds - how they work from a user perspective, and some of the programming techniques and gotchas from a developer perspective. (This is part of a series of short 15 minute micro-presentations we're going to run in conjunction with the main presentation over the next few months. We'll cover one new FM 10 feature each meeting. We're going to bounce back and forth between user-facing features (like Saved Finds, SMTP mail, Browse Mode Subsummaries) and developer facing ones (Script Triggers, new Server features etc) as the months progress. Our thinking here is that it's impossible to obtain a full understanding of 10 from a single overview presentation.) As always, pizza and soft drinks will be provided. Please RSVP here if you are planning to attend this meeting: http://www.fmpug.com/rsvp.php?eventID=859 ____________________________________________________________________ FileMaker's "Power of 10" Roadshow comes to Philly April 1! ____________________________________________________________________ About the Philadelphia FileMaker User Group: ____________________________________________________________________ The Philadelphia FileMaker User Group was founded in 2005 as an initiative by FileMaker Business Alliance member IT Solutions to provide an open forum for FileMaker developers and those interested in FileMaker to meet, brainstorm and network.
